Rick Vugteveen

Former VP of Technology

Social Connections:

Rick is a visionary at heart. During his time as VP of Technology at Image X he was constantly pushing the envelope to deliver the most advanced technological solutions possible to our clients. Rick worked with ImageX from 2005 – 2010 and led our company through the labyrinth of ever-evolving technological trends. At the same time, he was scrupulous in maintaining the high standard of quality our clients have come to expect.

An active member of the Drupal community, Rick calls open source “a giant experiment in how thousands of people can work together on a shared project.” He has presented at Drupal Camp Vancouver, at various Vancouver and Fraser Valley meet-ups, and at the Open Web Vancouver 2009 conference. Rick recently re-located to the UK, where new Drupal adventures await him.

On Rick’s current reading list: Barack Obama’s Dreams From My Father, Paste and Dwell magazine, books about Linux and the Apache webserver, and too many RSS feeds!

Rick on Gutenberg: The explosion of the Internet is a unique time in world history – our equivalent of the Gutenberg printing press. It is exciting to work in an industry at the forefront of these changes.

Rick on working at ImageX: At ImageX the job was varied and always evolving, allowing me to grow professionally. It’s a fantastic workplace – everyone is incredibly kind and we really gelled as a team.
