Brandon Shi

Senior Drupal Developer

For Brandon Shi, there are few problems in the world that can’t be solved through flawless coding. He loves a challenge and enjoys creating modules suited for a client’s specific needs and goals, no matter how unorthodox or last minute they are.

Brandon studied as an engineer at the University of British Columbia – an education for which he credits his problem-solving skills and love for methodology. Deciding he’d rather build websites than bridges, he launched into web-based application development and has decided to stick around in the world of Drupal.

Brandon’s favourite Drupal module: “Definitely Features. It lets me put otherwise database-centric things to code.”

Brandon when he’s not developing: “When I’m not sticking every last part of a project into GIT versioning control, I can be found snowboarding at Cypress or Whistler, searching for the perfect eatery, cheering for a Canucks goal or struggling for air on a hiking trail.”

Daniel Washbrook

Drupal Developer

Daniel Washbrook is a Drupal web developer by day and a regular human, usually asleep, by night. He’s been a pocket-protector-wearing computer geek since before it was cool. Drupal took over his life about 5 years ago, and no amount of therapy will ever make it right again.

Daniel’s career began after high school, when he started towards a Bachelor of Commerce in marketing. He left his friends and family and moved to France to specialize in cultural issues pertaining to the European Union and marketing across borders. However, his love for computers and skill as a developer brought him back to Canada. He misses the fine French food, but not the cold winter rain.

Back in Canada (Kelowna, to be exact), he started working as a freelance web developer, fine-tuning his skills in Unix and Windows-based development. Being overworked quickly helped him also develop skills in Project Management.

In Europe, he worked with several programming languages and discovered his love for open source, which led him, as all roads eventually do, to the world of Drupal. He successfully holds down a day job, freelance work and the occasional class to make sure he’s on top of the latest trends. He also drinks a lot of coffee.
