Hank VanZile

Hank VanZile is the Director of Technology at ImageX Media. With close to fifteen years of strategic technology experience, Hank has held senior-level positions in the public and private sectors. He has significant expertise in technology planning, project management, open source web technologies and educational / e-learning software.

Originally from Vermont, Hank began his career in Boston where he started a small web design agency during the height of the Dot-Com era. After moving to BC in 2005, he spent five and a half years working for Royal Roads University, establishing their Web Systems and Project Planning departments along the way. He then spent a year and a half consulting for non-profit and social change organizations in the Lower Mainland. At ImageX he is responsible for the daily supervision of the development team, as well as the strategic oversight of the organization’s technology platforms. He is particularly passionate about OpenEDU.

Realistically it will probably be visiting family, but I’d love to go to Alaska. I’d really like to rent an RV and drive there.

I regularly import cheddar cheese from Cabot Creamery in Vermont.

If I could have any superpower:
Teleportation.

I love the Blues. When I need to concentrate I listen to trance/downbeat/ambient techno. Beyond that, my tastes are pretty wide: jazz, folk, funk, metal…
