VIDEO: Working at ImageX

August 2nd, 2011 by Michael Silverwood

Wondering what it’s like to work at ImageX? The Career Center at UBC’s Sauder School of Business is working on a video feature of some of the companies in the co-op program, so we put together this video for a taste of what it’s like to work at ImageX. We had a little fun with the superhero theme from the website, and have cameos by some of our web superheroes in the office. Interesting fact: the entire video was shot using an iPhone 4 (with some help from After Effects). (You can view it in high definition by selecting 720p in the YouTube video above)

Intern Launch: My First Weeks at ImageX

May 17th, 2011 by Michael Silverwood

I just finished my second week at ImageX, and my excitement level has barely dropped since I began. I hit the ground running, drafting a social media strategy and learning Drupal SEO optimization all within the first week. At some offices the adjustment period might be stressful or overwhelming, but the atmosphere at ImageX was immediately welcoming and lighthearted. I am still blown away by the passion and talent of the team, but more than anything it is attitude that sets ImageX apart. The entire group is extremely down to earth, and mixes just the right amount of fun and humour into their work. I began at ImageX at a very exciting time for the company.

Onward and upward: our bright and shiny new office

November 26th, 2010 by Glenn Hilton

We have seen the light! Literally. We’ve spent the last 10 years working in the beautiful, oceanside community of South Surrey in an office space that was super cool, but admittedly, a little dark. Some might even call it dungeon-esque. And with our business and team growing, we were packed in like a bunch of peas in an iPod. So it’s with great excitement that we announce our move to a bright and shiny new office in Burnaby. We have twice as much room to stretch our legs and our minds, and we’re soaking in the Vitamin D that comes streaming in the large windows. We’d love to have you come for a visit!

Northland Pioneer College Site wins Silver at Paragon Awards

April 28th, 2010 by Jodi Martens

We love happy clients. We find great satisfaction in knowing our clients are … well, satisfied. But it’s also nice to also be recognized by people who aren’t our clients, by others in the industry. So we were pleased as punch to find out the site we built for Northland Pioneer College (NPC) won Silver in the Paragon Awards, the annual awards presented by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). The NCMPR represents marketing and PR professionals at community colleges across the United States. This year there were over 1,700 entries, which were judged by more than 75 judges from around the country.

In Pursuit of Awesome: Our Company Values

March 8th, 2010 by Glenn Hilton

Heads up: things are about to get wild and crazy at ImageX. Ok, not really, but new things are happening. We’ve done a lot of navel-gazing over the past few months, thinking about who we are as a company and – more importantly – who we want to be. And, lint aside, we’ve resurfaced with a fresh new appreciation of our strengths and a passion to be even better. It goes without saying that every company – and every individual – has their own set of values and aspirations, and ours is far from a one-size-fits-all solution (we think that would be incredibly boring …). But in this age of transparency we thought we would save you the trouble of Googling us and cut right to the chase: this is who we are, what we aspire to and what we are ultimately all about. 1.

A Better Website For Better Transparency

May 25th, 2009 by Jodi Martens

Can oil, gas and mineral extraction transform struggling economies and reduce widespread poverty? The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) believes so, and is committed to setting a global standard for transparency in oil, gas and mining – industries that can be the key to generating large revenues, fostering growth and reducing poverty in nations rich in natural resources.

ImageX Launches New International Research Site

February 4th, 2009 by Jodi Martens

The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) is an international think tank whose main purpose is to address international governance challenges through world-class research. CIGI’s business is ideas, and their new website needed to play a central role in disseminating their research and ideas and promoting their expertise. Their goal with this site was to build a global audience online and to better showcase its content and experts. To achieve this goal, ImageX Media built a site that is complex in development but easy to access and navigate. Not only does the site have common features such as a newsletter system, events calendar, photo gallery, blog, and social bookmarking, we also developed a number of custom features to meet the demands of an information-hungry audience.

ImageX and Grey Vancouver Team Up to Revamp Vancouver Magazine

November 5th, 2008 by Jodi Martens

ImageX Media had the pleasure of working with the team at Grey Vancouver on the re-design of the Vancouver Magazine website. Vancouver’s premier magazine covers the events, people and issues that make this city sizzle. The site contains a vast amount of constantly changing content – including over 500 restaurant reviews, coverage of local events, and original articles and features. Vancouver Magazine’s previous site had no CMS system, which meant all new content had to be created in Dreamweaver and then uploaded to the site.
