Overview.

Onset, a global leader in data logging and monitoring solutions, needed to modernize a complex B2B digital ecosystem that was no longer meeting the needs of its customers or its growing product portfolio. Built on Drupal 7, the existing website lacked the clarity, flexibility, and engaging user experience required to support buyers navigating technical solutions across industries.

The migration presented a layered challenge: bring two distinct brands, InTemp and HOBO, together under a single site architecture while preserving clear, intuitive pathways for each audience. Through a multi-phase approach, the project reimagined the site experience, streamlined navigation, and created a stronger digital foundation for helping customers find the right monitoring solutions faster.

What They Needed.

Onset needed a modern website that could better support its customers, its product portfolio, and the long-term growth of its digital presence. Their existing Drupal 7 site was difficult to navigate and no longer delivered the level of user experience expected by customers researching complex data logging and monitoring solutions.

A key priority was creating a clearer, more intuitive journey for two distinct brands, InTemp and HOBO, within a single website. Each brand served different customer needs and use cases, so the new site needed to maintain strong brand pathways while still feeling connected, cohesive, and easy to manage.

Onset was looking for a partner who could do more than redesign the visual experience. They needed strategic guidance around site architecture, navigation, content organization, and product discovery, ensuring that users could quickly find the right solutions, understand their applications, and access the resources needed to make informed decisions.

They also needed a flexible, scalable platform that would be easier for internal teams to maintain over time. Beyond the initial redesign and migration, Onset wanted a long-term partner who could provide ongoing website support, optimization, and technical resources as their business, content needs, and customer expectations continued to evolve.

How We Helped.

ImageX helped design and build the new e-commerce site using Drupal 9, including the migration of content from a legacy site and now have provided ongoing support since June 2021. 

With a two-phase project approach, in the first phase of discovery, definition, and design, we: 

  • Created an implementation-ready design that was engaging and mobile-friendly, a digital strategy, and clearly defined navigation that accurately depicts the customer journey
  • Created a content strategy focused on increasing engagement, user satisfaction, and conversion.

In phase 2, the implementation, we:

  • Migrated the site from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9
  • Created online shopping cart with workflow and embedded Trustpilot for checkout
  • Integrated with Salesforce Pardot for form-based data capture and submission plus embedded a chat
  • Launched a redesigned of onsetcomp.com with an engaging, user-friendly digital experience aligned with their HOBO product

The Results.

The redesigned site gives customers a stronger, more intuitive way to explore Onset’s product ecosystem and find the information they need without relying on direct support as a first step. By improving content structure, navigation, product pathways, and application-based resources, the new experience makes it easier for users to self-serve at every stage of their journey, whether they are comparing solutions, learning how products are used in the field, or looking for technical materials to support a purchase decision.

With clearer pathways for both the InTemp and HOBO brands, customers can more quickly identify the solutions most relevant to their needs while still benefiting from a unified website experience. Educational content, product details, application pages, and supporting resources are now easier to discover, helping users build confidence before engaging with sales or support.

The result is a more effective digital platform that supports customer education, reduces friction in the buying journey, and gives Onset a stronger foundation for ongoing growth, content expansion, and lead generation.
