Drupal AI Services

Smarter site search. Faster translation. Accessibility done at scale. We help enterprises put Drupal AI to work inside the sites they already run.

AI Powered Experiences

AI is rapidly reshaping digital experiences, but most organizations are still only scratching the surface of what’s possible. The future isn’t about adding another chatbot to your website; it’s about creating intelligent, connected experiences where AI works seamlessly within your digital ecosystem. From personalized content delivery to smarter editorial workflows and adaptive user journeys, AI is becoming an integrated layer of the modern web experience rather than a standalone feature.

Organizations have an opportunity to rethink how content is created, managed, and experienced online. By embedding AI directly into workflows and user interactions, teams can build more responsive, human-centered digital experiences that empower both content creators and end users. The result is a more intuitive, collaborative web experience where AI enhances decision-making, personalization, and operational efficiency across the entire platform.

Download: AI Readiness Checklist for Marketers

Marketers are being told to “optimize for AI search,” but the real question is whether their CMS and content foundation are actually built for it.

As highlighted in our recent webinar, How To Audit Your CMS for AI-Driven Search & Conversion Performance, discovery isn’t just changing SEO tactics, it’s reshaping how content needs to be structured, interpreted, and surfaced by machines. This checklist gives you a practical way to audit that reality.

Instead of guessing, you can quickly assess whether your current setup enables visibility or quietly holds you back, from structured content and discoverability to conversion tracking.

Download this checklist to identify hidden gaps, understand your true level of AI readiness, and take the first step toward a CMS and content strategy that actually performs in modern search.

Benefits of Drupal AI

Your data and your AI provider stay under your control

Most AI tools lock you into one vendor and one place where your content goes. Drupal AI works the other way around.  Your content stays inside your Drupal site, and you choose which of the 48 providers you want to connect to. Switching providers later doesn't mean rebuilding anything. If your compliance team has rules about where data can live, you can meet them inside the same setup.

AI lives where your content already does

There's no second platform to learn. Your editors keep using the same Drupal admin they already know, with AI features showing up inside the tools they're used to. Your team will adapt faster,  with far less training, and no detour through a separate tool every time someone needs to use AI on a piece of content.

It grows alongside your strategy

Drupal AI is open source and modular. Start with one feature, like alt text generation or smarter on-site search, then add more when you're ready. Because it's built by a community of partner agencies, including ImageX, new features and provider integrations show up all the time. You're never stuck waiting on a single vendor's roadmap, and you're never committing to a feature set decided two years ago.

Trusted by universities, governments, and enterprises that demand the highest standards.

Creating Smarter, Personalized Experiences in Drupal with AG-UI

ON DEMAND - Drupal AI Summit Recording

Discover how Drupal can evolve beyond chatbots into a collaborative, AI-powered experience platform with  AG-UI.

This session shows how interactive AI agents can work directly within your Drupal site to support content teams, streamline workflows, and deliver more personalized, intuitive experiences for users, without adding technical complexity.

We are witnessing a fundamental shift in how businesses utilize Artificial Intelligence. The era of simple, text-based chatbots is ending. In its place, a new generation of "AI Agents" is emerging—intelligent digital assistants capable of reasoning, using tools, and collaborating with humans in real-time to customize content experiences. For Drupal site owners, marketers, and content teams, this opens up a powerful opportunity. Imagine your website becoming a collaborative workspace, where AI collaborates with your visitors to personalize experiences in real time as they interact with your content.

This session will introduce a new approach to bringing these interactive AI assistants into Drupal using a component-based toolkit built on AG-UI. While the technology runs behind the scenes, the experience is designed to feel natural and intuitive, AI that is embedded into your end user content experience, rather than in a disconnected pop-up.

We will demonstrate how this custom toolkit bridges the gap between complex AI logic and the intuitive Drupal user experience you expect.

Frequently Asked Questions About Drupal and AI

What is the Drupal AI Initiative?

The Drupal AI Initiative is the community-wide effort that builds and maintains Drupal AI. Launched in June 2025, it's the largest multi-company collaboration in Drupal's history, with more than 30 partner agencies contributing code, funding, and direction. ImageX is a Silver sponsor, which means our team contributes code to the Initiative itself alongside the work we do for clients. When something gets built into Drupal AI, we have a hand in shaping it before it ships to anyone.

What is Drupal AI?

The Drupal AI module is the umbrella package that brings AI into Drupal. It contains AI Core (the engine that connects your site to AI providers) and supports submodules (the features your team actually uses). The module is open source, free to use, and covered by the Drupal Security Team. You install it once, then turn on whichever submodules fit your work.

What is AI Core?

AI Core, sometimes referenced as "artificial intelligence core" in Drupal documentation, is the part of the Drupal AI module that handles the connection between your Drupal site and your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and so on). Think of it as the engine the rest of the AI features plug into. Without it, none of the submodules can run.

Do I need OpenAI to use Drupal AI?

No, you don't need OpenAI to use Drupal AI. The module works with 48 different AI providers, including Anthropic (Claude), Google Gemini, Azure, AWS Bedrock, Hugging Face, and self-hosted options like Ollama. You can also use multiple providers at once, for example one model for translation and a different one for chat, and switch between them whenever you want.

Is integrating AI secure for government and higher-ed data?

Integrating AI can be secure for government and higher-ed data when it's set up correctly. Drupal AI was designed with data sovereignty in mind. You choose where your data lives (including keeping it entirely inside your own infrastructure), which AI provider handles requests, and which information gets sent. We've worked with government agencies and universities on exactly this kind of setup. Compliance work is part of the job, and we treat it that way.

How much time will my team need to commit if we have a consultation?

A consultation with our team would take 30 minutes to an hour of your team's time. If you decide to move forward, the deeper discovery and planning phase runs a few hours over a couple of weeks, mostly for stakeholder interviews and reviewing what you have today. The whole process is designed to fit around your team's existing day jobs.

Does Drupal AI require overhauling our existing tech stack?

No, working with Drupal AI doesn't require ripping out your existing tech stack. It's built to add AI to the Drupal site you already have. If you're on a recent version of Drupal (10.3 or later), Drupal AI installs alongside everything else you're running. Your CRM, analytics, marketing tools, and integrations stay where they are. If you're on an older version of Drupal, we'll start with a migration plan before adding AI on top.
