Overview

ICTC is a national centre of expertise for the digital economy that is a trusted source for evidence-based policy advice, forward looking research, and creative capacity building programs. They selected us for a multi-phase design, architecture, and development project of a skills development portal helping Canadians re-skill or up-skill for in-demand jobs.

What They Needed

ICTC needed an integrated program delivery platform to deliver key program components in English and French.

The key program components included skills mapping, case management, upskilling/reskilling job seekers, learning hub (value exchange), job matching, and micro-credentials.

The goals of this objective were to:

  1. Improve the user experience for clients and staff through this integrated program delivery platform
  2. Provide improved reporting/tracking to identify opportunities for improving KPIs
  3. Maintain a source of truth to support with accuracy of data by integrating Salesforce into the Client Portal

How We Helped

We created the portal, etalentcanada.ca, to provide multiple tools to job seekers, including a skills calculator, portal for managing life-long learning, learning management system integration, micro-credentialing, and job matching. Our work during this process involved:

  • Providing consultation, design, user experience, and implementation for the development of the portal,
  • Providing site maintenance and support for the site, as well as ongoing feature development
  • Ongoing planning, architecture design, and delivery on further strategic phases of rollout

Through the portal, job seekers can take a self-guided assessment to identify what careers might be a match for their skills, and based on the results, can access resources and programs to find employment or develop their skills in these areas. These programs can also be purchased on the site and payment is processed through the subscription billing platform Stax Bill.

Once they are logged into the eTalent site, they can create a profile and upload skills so that employers can find them based on these skills. A project is currently underway to integrate these registrations through Salesforce.

On the backend, the tool provides reports to site administrators on common skills selected and other user actions.

The Results

Since the launch of eTalent Canada, metrics have been excellent, including the following results:

  • 150% increase in new users
  • 7% decrease in bounce rate
  • 90% increase in pageviews

ImageX continues to work with ICTC to define additional long-term KPIs for the organization.
