Overview

We started working with YMCA of the East Bay, a nonprofit dedicated to health, fitness and youth development, on an initial project where we merged and streamlined the content of two existing websites within a tight deadline.

After the merger, we designed and developed a new website using YMCA Website Services (formerly Open Y) as the main platform. We also helped with content creation, SEO, and Google Ads management.

What They Needed

With initially two websites that had declining traffic and lack of attention to UX, YMCA of the East Bay wanted a single site where members and prospective clients could easily find the programs and services that would best meet their needs. They also wanted to increase overall traffic and engagement.

Additionally, the client needed a team of developers to implement YMCA Website Services (formerly Open Y), which is a nationalized initiative that many YMCA associations use for easier management since it's an open-source platform.

How We Helped

We merged the two websites, streamlining content from several hundred pages to just over 250 pages. We ensured each step of the project was done with customer experience at the forefront. Our teams built a foundation of trust and the ability to effectively communicate with each other accelerated the pace of the project as well as contributed to better quality work. We managed regular check-ins to ensure the project was on track.

Later on, we worked closely with the YMCA of the East Bay team to redesign and develop a new single site on Drupal’s platform, YMCA Website Services (formerly Open Y). We also supported the team with content, analytics, SEO and managed their Google Ads.

The Results
