Contributing to Drupal

Ensuring ongoing growth and innovation

Why ImageX contributes to Drupal

One of the best things about Drupal is its worldwide community of users, with over 1,000,000 expert developers, designers, trainers, strategists, coordinators, editors, and sponsors. Within this community is a core group of 1,500+ members, who actively contribute by sharing knowledge and providing support through forums, documentation, and user groups.

Having access to this open source community means you can tap into a vast pool of expertise, best practices, and innovative ideas at all times.

At ImageX, we proudly contribute to Drupal to help enhance the platform's functionality.  Contributing to Drupal helps make the platform more useful, benefiting both existing clients and enticing organizations to adopt the CMS for their needs.

Giving back through contribution also aligns with three of our core values;  Quality Obsession, Effective Communication, and Succeeding Together. Our team at ImageX finds fulfillment in actively contributing through code and non-code to Drupal and it contribution has become an intrinsic part of our culture.

We were excited to be able to contribute to the inaugural Pitch-burgh event, where financial support was awarded to a number of initiatives, voted on by the community at DrupalCon Pittsburgh, 2023.

Contributing back to Drupal is baked into our culture.  The more that we put into the product the more we get out of it. From fixing small bugs that help the entire community, to building innovative modules that can help new projects down the line.

Sponsoring team contributions to Drupal

Between client projects and internal continuous improvement initiatives, there is often limited time to put toward contributions.

ImageX have an internal program that encourages every employee to contribute back to the community, whether that is fixing a patch, helping organize an event, attending a code sprint, building new Drupal modules, participating in Promote Drupal committees, or sharing their Drupal expertise through speaking at DrupalCon, Drupal Camps, and other conferences.

We also set aside time for education, research, and innovation, along with offering an Education Fund along with Education Time Off which allows individuals to contribute to the community in additional ways.

This session was recorded as part of the OHO U Drupal Healthcare Conference, July 18, 2023.

Drupal has always been a popular choice for CMS amongst healthcare marketers due to its scalability, security and flexibility. ImageX and the Drupal Association collaborate to share what Drupal can do for you, alongside practical and Drupal-specific ideas for moving faster and getting more done.

"It’s a very positive community. I think people get together, not just to talk about business but to talk about their passion for Drupal and how they can make an impact to the world in a positive way." - Bjorn Thomson

Our team contributed in a number of ways at DrupalCon Pittsburgh, read our Interview with Carol Pettirossi: Reflecting on DrupalCon Pittsburgh and being a Woman in Drupal for a first time attendee's thoughts.

In this webinar, we go over the benefits of a composable CMS. You will hear from our technical experts, Dave Bezuidenhout and Cassio Almeida, sharing their knowledge on CMS types, composable architecture, and sharing tips on how to future-proof your digital strategy.

In the fall of 2021, ImageX and Platform.sh conducted a study evaluating the impact of the pandemic on higher-ed marketing efforts. The survey results provide insights into the current terrain for higher-ed marketers and suggest strategies you can apply to your digital environments to increase 2022 admissions.

During this webinar, digital experience experts Bjorn Thomson and Paul Gilzow share the study’s findings and discuss how they see the next 12 months evolving.

This session was recorded live at DrupalCon Pittsburgh, June, 2023.

This session shares insights into how to evaluate the need for a redesign, identify the impactful improvements, implement them on your website, and assess the results.

There are a number of practical improvements you can make to your website without breaking the bank, all while adding significant value. This doesn’t cancel any possible redesign plans in the future — your website will just be more prepared and in better shape.
